The reason we offer skills appraisals and course counselling is simply this - we are divers! Yes, we are instructors and mentors, but that comes second to our diving. SDI and TDI

If you spend any time on internet forums in order to research your dive course options, a phrase that you will see time and time again is "It's not about the agency, it's about the instructor".

Whilst the sentiment behind this phrase is true, you can tell a lot about a potential instructor by looking at the agencies they choose to teach through. Here at Rock Salt Scuba, we only offer courses from TDI (Technical Diving International) and it's sister agency SDI (Scuba Diving International). We do not compromise our own personal beliefs in order to offer courses from agencies that have standards we don't agree with as a means to increase our marketability.

SDI and TDI may not have the immediate brand recognition of other agencies, but we beleive that they offer some of the finest dive courses available. The reasons we chose to offer SDI and TDI courses include the following.

SDI and TDI courses are defined by a set of minimum standards that all divers must acheive. However, SDI and TDI not only allow instructors to exceed those standards but they postively encourage it. SDI and TDI allows instructors to structure a course that is appropriate to the environment in which it is taught and this allows us to tailor a course to your specific needs rather than enrolling in a course that operates like a cookie cutter and doesn't recognise you as an individual.

The range of SDI and TDI courses offers you a complete solution to your dive training needs, from an Open Water course through the Advanced Diver programme and further into both professional courses and technical diving, from Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures through to Advanced Trimix.

SDI is one of the few agencies that offers Solo Diver training. Here at Rock Salt Scuba we beleive that solo diving can be done safely, provided a diver has the correct trianing, experience, equipment and most importantly attitude.
